I’m Dreaming of Bicycling in France!

The holiday season is always a perfect time to reflect back on the past year, and begin dreaming and planning for the year to come.  If I could have one Christmas wish, it would be to have more time to explore the backroads of France by bike.  Some of my best memories this year came from my bike trips to France, and I’d like to share some of my favorite pictures with you.

It’s impossible to convey the breathtaking scenery you encounter by bike in the French countryside.  But hopefully these pictures will give you a glimpse into my travels this summer to the Loire and Burgundy regions.  I have started planning 2011 trips, but it is hard to imagine that I could find experiences better than those from 2010.  But if you don’t venture into new areas, you never know!  Wishing you a Merry Christmas, and I hope that you too are dreaming of a bike trip in France!

I love the adventure and unpredictability of experiencing France by bike. Cycling in France is the ultimate slow travel adventure, an opportunity to see it through the back door in a way few tourists experience. One week on a bike in France and life takes on a different meaning! I created Experience France By Bike to inspire recreational cyclists to visit France the slow way....by bike, and to be the best source of information for planning the perfect bicycling adventure. I encourage readers to embrace the uncertainty of the road ahead and to take the path less traveled, exploring roads, towns and villages that you would never experience traveling by car.
